Operation Daybreak: Redefining the Tactical Battlefield

Recent updates have unveiled exciting changes coming to the tactical shooter. Ubisoft distributed a comprehensive briefing that outlines new gameplay elements and future plans set to reshape the gaming experience.

The French developer provided an abundance of details about the upcoming transformation for the game. Among the highlights were insights on the roadmap for the next iteration as well as technical requirements for the updated version. Furthermore, plans for the second season of Year 10, titled Operation Daybreak, have been announced, promising a range of enhancements to the gameplay.

One of the most significant adjustments comes with the overhaul of an operator’s tactical gadget. The character’s signature shield now features major improvements designed for increased mobility and versatility. The refined device can be deployed with greater ease, allowing the operator to move about more freely while the shield remains fixed. Additionally, a shield that is positioned on the field is now controllable from a distance, enabling the activation of taser functions without being physically behind it. Whether carried in hand or on the back, the shield is set to automatically retract and extend during rapid movement, crouching, climbing obstacles, or navigating barriers, further accentuating the character’s enhanced agility.

Other adjustments planned for Operation Daybreak are expected to alter several core mechanics:

Electrical effects will now serve solely as a slowing mechanism rather than inflicting damage.
Damage to limbs will be minimized to place a greater focus on precision strikes to the head.
Operators using shields will lose the ability to aim accurately while vaulting or descending from heights.
There are also several targeted tweaks to individual operator abilities, aiming to optimize overall gameplay dynamics.
