Stalker 2 Faces Another Delay: November Release Date Set for Bug Fixes

Stalker 2 has encountered yet another delay, much to the dismay of eager fans, particularly just before its planned release date in September. GSC Game World, the developer behind Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, announced an emergency delay pushing the release two months ahead due to necessary bug-fixing. The game, a highly-anticipated first-person shooter, was initially slated for release on September 5, 2024. Now, it will be available approximately two and a half months later on November 20. It remains scheduled for release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, with availability on Xbox Game Pass from day one. As reported, Stalker 2 director Yevhen Grygorovych addressed the delay, expressing gratitude for the patience of fans. The additional two months are intended to address more 'unexpected anomalies,' essentially bugs, ensuring a smoother experience for players. Grygorovych emphasized the team's appreciation for the ongoing support and understanding from the community, noting their eagerness to finally release the game for fans to enjoy. This isn't the first delay for Stalker 2. In January, it was announced that the game would miss its original Q1 2024 release window for further polishing, pushing the release to September. Despite the numerous setbacks, including an alarming office fire and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, fan enthusiasm appears undiminished. The game received the 'Most Wanted' award at the PC Gaming Show 2023, indicating sustained hype for its release. Until November, fans can engage themselves with the Stalker: Legends of the Zone trilogy pack, which includes all the original games. For the first time, these games have also been made available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
